We are looking for an Engineer with solid web development experience and strong Java skills, including experience with Hibernate or other ORM software, familiarity with JSP, and working knowledge of EJB (we use EJB3). To be a good fit for this opportunity you will truly enjoy building well-designed and implemented software, and you will be a generalist -- our developers currently work in all areas of the application stack (database, services, UI, etc.). If you're a good fit for this position, you already know most of what this job entails. However, to be sure we're providing a complete picture, here are some details.

Reporting to our Senior Engineering Manager/Architect, you'll join a Development team that includes a PHP Specialist who maintains internal code for our publishing workflow, three Java Engineers developing for our external sites, and an HTML/CSS Developer who handles formatting. You can develop on a Mac or PC, and we try to keep things as simple and straightforward as possible. Java is our base language, our database is MySQL, we use JBoss as our application server, and our persistence engine is based on JPA/Hibernate.

As you might imagine, there is always plenty to do, and Engineers typically take the next project in the stack (we're all generalists). A project may last two to three weeks. Some projects in the works: Your specific activities will include:
